Hot Asian Stocks To Watch Right Now

Asian stocks moved higher on Monday, with Australia hitting a fresh-five year high, as shares bounced back from recent falls.

Regional markets started the week in recovery mode, following a series of declines last week that hit Japan and China especially hard. A pickup in interbank lending rates in China spooked investors and yanked the Shanghai Composite down 2.8% last week, while a strong yen helped the Nikkei Average sink 3.3% over the same period.

    Shares of VPRT jumped higher on Friday after the company reported a profit topping Wall Street expectations and beat the revenue expectation.

    From a technical perspective, VPRT broke out here above some near-term overhead resistance at $53.16 with heavy upside volume. This stock has been uptrending strong for the last four months, with shares moving higher from its low of $36.51 to its intraday high on Friday of $55.25. During that uptrend, shares of VPRT have been consistently making higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of VRPT within range of triggering a major breakout trade. That trade will hit if VRPT manages to take out $55.25 to its three-year high at $56.25.

    Traders should now look for long-biased trades in VPRT as long as it's trending above $53.16 or above $52 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that hits near or above 250,767 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then VRPT will set up to enter new 52-week- and three-year-high territory, which is bullish technical price action. Some possible upside targets off that breakout are $60 to $65.

Sysco (SYY) -- Winner Leave it to a food company to eat the competition. Sysco is the country's largest food service company, providing restaurants, schools, and other institutions with their edibles. It's about to get bigger. Sysco kicked off the week by announcing a deal valued at $3.5 billion in cash and stock for its nearest competitor, US Foods. There isn't likely to be a lot of regulatory hassle over the combination. This is a highly fragmented sector, with Sysco commanding just 18 percent of the overall market. It will be 27 percent after completing the deal. Given the nature of the business, there are advantages of being big, and Sysco is about to get substantially bigger at a reasonable price relative to its own valuation. lululemon athletica (LULU) -- Loser Shares of Lululemon stumbled 12 percent on Thursday after the retailer of high-end yoga apparel offered up a gloomy outlook for the holiday quarter. The Canadian chain spooked investors by forecasting flat comparable-store sales for the period. Its profit guidance also fell short of expectations. For a hot growth stock like Lululemon, proving ordinary after years of heady store-level sales growth isn't enough. Ford (F) -- Winner Things have been going well for automakers, and things are about to get even better for Ford. The popular automaker revealed in a presentation on Thursday that it plans to hire 3,000 salaried workers in 2014 -- and we're not talking about low-paying jobs here.     Today's news involves J.C. Penney's lawsuit with Macy's (NYSE: M  ) , in which a judge dismissed Macy's claim that J.C. Penney engaged in unfair competition by selling products from Martha Stewart Living (NYSE: MSO  ) in store-within-store settings. The judge based his decision on J.C. Penney's past experience in creating similar store-within-store concepts based on other brands.

    The motorsports industry is a natural monopoly at the local level, since only one racetrack can hold NASCAR events in each market, and until now, International Speedway has won this battle. Nevertheless, over the past five years, this company has suffered under declining ticket and concession spending, due to a weak demographic fan base located in troubled geographies. Although recent racetrack changes and customer stabilization will leave ISCA well positioned when spending power increases once again, this is bound to happen at a slow pace. However, the distinct properties of each racetrack attract high brand loyalty, and have compelled competitors like Speedway Motorsports Inc. (TRK) to focus business on completely different markets, therefore posing no real threat to ISCA.
